As Abigail Green writes, the National Heritage List for England is "an important historical record. It is an expression of our collective identity as a society, and because it is constantly changing, it also reflects the ways in which that identity continues to evolve. In this sense, it tells us as much about the present as it does about the past."
We are delighted that our work with Historic England to carry out a programme of Minor Enhancements to the List sparked interest in the media (2021). In the Jewish Chronicle, Abigail Green explained how the public can get involved, and on BBC Radio 4's Sunday programme, she talked to William Crawley about the importance of these enhancements in relation to Jewish heritage.
